Piimalill ‘Purpurea’ moodustab kompaktse värviküllase puhmiku. Dekoratiivsed purpurlillat värvi harunenud varred ja purpurroheline lehestik on kaunis kontrastis väävelkollaste õitega. Õitseb mais ja juunis. Kasvuks eelistab poolvarjulist kasvukohta ning hea drenaažiga kuivemapoolset huumusrikast mullapinda. Sobib poolvarjulisse kohta kiviktaimlas ning puittaimede ääristusse.
